Holly Andres joins the Roster!
HELLO ARTISTS is excited to announce Holly Andres joining the roster!
Holly uses photography to ponder the complexities of childhood, the fleeting nature of memory, and female introspection. Typically her images rely on a tension between an apparently approachable subject matter and a darker, sometimes disturbing subtext. She has had solo exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Istanbul, Turkey and Portland Oregon where she lives and works. Her work has been featured in Exit Magazine, Art in America, Artforum, Art News, Oprah Magazine, Elle Magazine, The LA Times, and Art Ltd. – which profiled her as one of 15 emerging West Coast artists under the age of 35.
Most recently Andres’s work was selected for Go West! Cutting-Edge Creatives in the United States, a book surveying the best creative minds in architecture, design, art, fashion, photography and advertising - published by German-based, DAAB Books, 2011.

Timothy Saccenti spotlight in File Magazine
"To me the most interesting and inspiring thing aspect of new york is how your perspective is created by the level you exist at, physically, and psychically. most of my inspiration comes to me while traveling on my way to my destinations, New York is an amazing town for that. You can walk, take the train, be underground/overground, cross rivers, see skylines, all on your way to work. Here's a few things I see on my way to my travels around town."

Grant Cornett featured in the British Journal or Photography!
Grant Cornett and his personal project 'Ma Neese' was featured in this months British Journal Magazine. The story documents Grant's grandmother's home in Colombus Missisippi, that Grant's Gradfather built decades ago. "It's the only house still standing in my 36 years of living. I've done everything to crawling in diapers to sneaking cigarettes under that roof, and that's where my interest lies, not so much the aesthetic, allthough it is an interesting looking house."
“Photography became a place for me to escape and think about this life that was changing so quickly and greatly,” he says. “It became my companion, my journal, a tool that keeps on teaching and that needs to be learnt. This has never stopped. But there’s no sense in restricting oneself to one form or the other. People, objects, places, each are constructed of the same matter, each make up and are made up of form. Various lighting techniques, the use of colour or black-and-white –each brings out a different mood, viewpoint, reference.”
