CHANDA HELZER

Chanda Helzer is a native of Portland, Oregon and has been drawing for as long as she can remember.
She began making rock posters and designing record covers for her friends' bands in the early 1990s,
at which time she developed a cut-out letter "font" that she hasn't yet grown tired of. Chanda reckons
she's cut tens of thousands of letters by hand with an X-acto over the years. In addition, she has devoted
a quarter century or more to testing the limits of the US Postal Service by mailing an untold number of
decorated envelopes to friends and family around the globe.

Chanda draws inspiration from a number of sources - found photographs, old newspaper clippings,
Hall and Oates lyrics, and cheap wine.

Clients include Starbucks, Fiskars, Hewlett-Packard, Plazm Magazine, The Portland Mercury, Elliott Smith,
and Sleater-Kinney.
