Originally from Washington D.C., Hannah Whitaker studied photography and painting at Yale before settling in Brooklyn. Her fine artwork led her to shooting regularly for New York and W Magazines, where she got her start making editorial work. She has since expanded her client list to include Kate Spade, W Hotels, Tommy Hilfiger, Oakley, Coach, Smirnoff, DKNY, Loeffler Randall, Van Cleef & Arpels, Allure, Billboard, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Fader, InStyle, Lucky, Marie Claire, Moda Operandi, Modern Farmer, The New York Times Magazine, Psychology Today, Real Simple, Refinery29, Teen Vogue, Time Magazine, The New Yorker, and Wired.
Her background as an artist gives her a keen eye for color and form. She has a talent for creating dramatic, artful, sexy images, whether of high-end accessories or run-of-the-mill pens. Represented by M+B Gallery in Los Angeles and Galerie Christophe Gaillard in Paris, she regularly shows her artwork internationally.
