Tamara was born in New York’s East Village and spent much of her childhood around her family’s generations-old apothecary. She attended Spence where she was introduced to the craft of photography and graduated from Barnard College. After continuing a school year abroad there, she became a photo assistant and studio manager for several years.  Since returning to New York, Tamara has shot for a variety of publications where she loves to capture the mysterious feminine and has most recently collaborated with the designer and artist Emma Fletcher on The Push Pose.
