Photographer and mixed media artist Theodora Richter spent ten years in Paris before recently moving her creative studio – and family – to the US. After studying literature and sociology at the Sorbonne, and art at Ecole du Louvre and Parsons School of Design, Richter began as image director for Chanel-owned luxury brand Holland & Holland, before developing her own distinct style and starting her own artistic career. Her recognizable collages, portraits, still-lives and fashion series, overlaid with cut-outs and illustrations, are regularly featured in international magazines such as Marie-Claire, Madame Figaro, Grazia, Vogue, Glamour. In her studio she also develops tailor made projects – advertising images and digital animations – for Chanel cosmetics, Sephora, Roger Vivier shoes and bags, and Coach, to name a few, who all enjoy her much needed dose of fun, playfulness and dream-like surrealism. She now divides her time between New York and Miami.
Clients include Sephora, Chanel, Roger Vivier, Coach, Clinique, Betsey Johnson, Sally Hansen, Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney Lingerie, Escada, The Webster Miami, Lierac, Mauboussin, Evidens de Beauté, Sisley, Icicle, Palace Costes, Petit Bateau, Glamour, Vogue China, Madame Figaro, Grazia, Please, L’Express Styles, Cultured, Marie Claire, and Cosmopolitan.
